China and its fourteen border nations compose forty-five percent of the global population.  Six nations are predominately Islamic, four are Buddhist, and three are atheisitic communism.  Only China is geographically positioned to have an effective spiritual and political impact on these countries.

When the communists took over China in 1949, there were one million Chinese believers.  All foreign Christian workers were forced out of China.  Many Chinese Christian leaders were imprisoned and many churches were closed. Persecution of believers became widespread resulting in an underground church movement. Many thought that Christianity in China would die.  Today, China's government estimates that there are 130 million Christians.  Even with this dramatic growth, only ten percent of the population is Christian.
